The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is an organization under the Government of India responsible for recruiting staff for various posts in various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices. It conducts examinations for the recruitment of Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted) and Group ‘C’ (Non-Technical) posts in various Ministries/Departments of the Government of India and their attached and subordinate offices.

2] SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Examination: This exam is conducted for the recruitment of Group ‘C’ posts such as Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Data Entry Operator (DEO), Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, and Court Clerk.
3] SSC Junior Engineer (JE) Examination: This exam is conducted for the recruitment of Junior Engineers in various departments such as Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Quantity Surveying & Contracts.
4] SSC Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ Examination: This exam is conducted for the recruitment of Stenographers in various departments of the Government of India.
5] SSC Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) Examination: This exam is conducted for the recruitment of Multi-Tasking Staff in various departments of the Government of India.
The SSC conducts these exams in three tiers, namely Tier-I, Tier-II, and Tier-III. Tier-I is a computer-based examination, Tier-II is a descriptive paper, and Tier-III is a skill test or typing test. Candidates who qualify all the tiers are eligible for the final selection.
